The High School Placement Test (HSPT) will be administered by Frassati Catholic High School located at 22151 Frassati Way. The test will be offered at other Catholic High Schools on the same day. If your child is testing at another school, but wants Frassati Catholic to receive his or her test scores, he or she will need to indicate that on his or her answer sheet. The HSPT school code for Frassati Catholic is 12.
The test will begin at 8:30 a.m. and end at 11:30 a.m. Students should arrive at Frassati Catholic High School to check in at 8:00 a.m. Students will have a short break following the first three sections of the exam. For students taking the exam with accommodations (time and a half), the exam lasts about 4 hours and 15-30 minutes depending on breaks. We usually recommend families be ready to pick up students taking the extended time testing arrive back on campus for pickup around 12:45pm.
Please bring two #2 pencils. Please note that mechanical pencils and calculators are not allowed for this exam.
The test covers the following areas:
The HSPT is one factor considered when a student seeks admission into Frassati Catholic High School. The Admissions Committee reviews student transcripts, teacher recommendations, the HSPT scores and other relevant information when considering an applicant for admissions. Students with lower than a 9th grade equivalency will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
There is no passing grade. Scores are percentages of performances as compared to the entire group taking that same test; scores range from below average to above average in any given test area with 50% as average.
The Scholastic Testing Service (STS) scores the tests and will send the individual Student Score Report approximately 3-4 weeks following the exam. The score reports are provided to Frassati Catholic and will be uploaded in the student's admissions portal. If you have questions about receiving the PDF score report contact Director of Enrollment, Tim Lienhard at [email protected].
